Roundwood Model Aero Club (incorporating the Dublin Model Flying Club )
NASA Langley researchers designed and built a battery-powered, 10-engine remotely piloted aircraft. The Greased Lightning GL-10 prototype has a 10-foot wingspan and can take off like a helicopter and fly efficiently like an airplane. In this video, engineers successfully transition the plan from hover to wing-borne flight in tests at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia.

It was a fantastic day for flying.Despite this, we had only few flights.
Andy solved eventually engine adjustment problems, Bevan had crossed wires in one of his planes -
he may have flown it after I left 17.45!
Tony Mc - flew the MPX foamy Twin and did taxi tests with the new, electric powered Spitfire.
Michael enjoyed his usual electric flyer and admired the two new arrivals in his "Stables"!
Des sailed his Yacht, missing Tony Noonan who is not well. Willie flew more flights than all others together
and I, at last, managed to fly and land the 4 m Grob again safely.
Our treasurer Liam just about managed to get out of his sickbed to enjoy the fresh air in RW.
Not to forget Olli, having given us a pristine flying field by cutting the grass regularly, came to maintain the mower.

The large Grob is transported to Roundwood for balance and C of G setup using 2 x Tony's 1 x Bevan and maybe some lead.
Her we have a video of our new member Barry arriving to Roundwood with his first plane for inspection and test flight.
It is always exciting when a new club member arrives to see and feel his or her new creation taking off for its first flight.
As always, experienced RC pilots give the new plane the obligatory safety check.
The Motor, new from a shop, needs to be tested and adjusted.
