A few photos from yesterday in Roundwood – the weather was excellent, the pilots in flying form(excuse the pun) – no dinks or dongs to report just excellent landings throughout the day – we welcomed some old friends with plenty of tea, cakes, chat and craic. The bush pilot took to the air after his camouflage attempt and showed us how a bush plane should be flown - very impressive indeed – I am reliably informed that touch and go’s on the lake will be his next endeavor – lets hope there is not a big splash!!!

Definition of a Bush Plane

Today on the field we had an explosion of pilots with a serious amount of planes both extra large and very petite. The most popular plane flying today was the Bush Plane - we had 5 on the field today with lots of discussion as to what a bush plane really is - this debate went…

We all have problems dealing with the Center of Gravity for our planes. Some of us have purchased special balancers to do job, others have come up with their own ingenious methods to solve the problem. As the planes get bigger the problem of establishing the  C of G also gets more of a challenge - have a look at some of our members methods and pay particular attention to the last one - now there is a man who believes " necessity is the mother of invention"
