Birds Eye View
Ever wondered what our flying site looked like from the air - are the runways cut straight - do we have enough space to land - well - have a look at the following images that were taken by Hugo and I am sure you will agree that our runways are just superb all thanks to Olly - and just see how much work Bevan has done on the pond for both planes and yachts. Thanks Hugo for these great shots.
Groundsman and helpers at work – 7th Nov
Despite the recent poor weather our excellent groundsman just keeps on going. He, along with the dedicated fertiliser team have been busy maintaining the access roads and spreading Winter fertiliser onto the runways. Yes - that's why our grass is so good - our special fertiliser team. Have a look at them all at work. In the photo of P.J. would that be a halo I see glowing around his head or is it something else ????????
Today at Roundwood 13/5/15
It was a fantastic day for flying.Despite this, we had only few flights.
Andy solved eventually engine adjustment problems, Bevan had crossed wires in one of his planes -
he may have flown it after I left 17.45!
Tony Mc - flew the MPX foamy Twin and did taxi tests with the new, electric powered Spitfire.
Michael enjoyed his usual electric flyer and admired the two new arrivals in his "Stables"!
Des sailed his Yacht, missing Tony Noonan who is not well. Willie flew more flights than all others together
and I, at last, managed to fly and land the 4 m Grob again safely.
Our treasurer Liam just about managed to get out of his sickbed to enjoy the fresh air in RW.
Not to forget Olli, having given us a pristine flying field by cutting the grass regularly, came to maintain the mower.
See you soon?
